Texas Rangers 2022 MLB Draft: Picks, bonus pool, slot values

The Texas Rangers picked Kumar Rocker third overall in the draft. They didn't pick again until the fourth round, but they took a first-round talent in Brock Porter (4). Long Beach State right-hander Luis Ramirez (7) was going on Day 1 before a shoulder injury ended his season. Georgia high school shortstop Chandler Pollard (5) is a plus runner with good bat speed but not a lot of hand or wrist strength. Iowa prep outfielder Tommy Specht (6) has the strength to drive the ball but a wide stance with no stride that debilitates his power.

Kumar Rocker, a right-handed pitcher, was drafted by the Mets last year but they didn't offer him a contract. He's now playing for the independent Tri-City ValleyCats in upstate New York. Brock Porter, the No. 109 pick, is a high school righty who's been up to 97 this spring. Tommy Specht, an outfielder, committed to Clemson, should go high enough to sign. Chandler Pollard, of Woodward Academy, Georgia, will be picked at No 139.

Rd. 17, Pick No. 499: Carson Dorsey, LHP, Gulf Coast CC (FL). Rd 18, pick No., 529: Justin Sanchez, lhp, Msgr McClancy Memorial High School (NY).
Grayson Saunier, a high school pitcher from Tennessee, is picked at No. 559 in the 2022 MLB Draft.
Matt Scott, a right-handed pitcher, was picked by Texas Rangers at No. 589 in the 2022 MLB Draft.
