Tybura vs Ivanov Prediction and Betting Analysis

Excitement levels will be building ahead of UFC 284, but there is a blockbuster night of action inside the octagon to look ahead to before then. Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivak will headline the main card at UFC Fight Night.

However, there is engrossing heavyweight action earlier in the evening as Blagoy Ivanov and Marcin Tybura clash. You can find the latest odds and Tybura vs Ivanov prediction right here.

Last Fight Records

Marcin Tybura hasn’t been in the octagon since a majority decision victory over Alexander Romanov in August 2022. That was an excellent return for the fighter after losing by unanimous decision against Alexander Volkov at UFC 267 in October 2021.

Meanwhile, Blagoy Ivanov has been away from the octagon for slightly longer, with his last appearance resulting in a unanimous decision win against Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC 274 in May 2022. That was a perfect return to action on the UFC schedule after losing his previous two fights.

Marcin Tybura vs. Blagoy Ivanov Betting Analysis

Marcin Tybura

Tybura is likely to be a favored Tybura vs Ivanov prediction among many this weekend. The Polish star has been a formidable fighter throughout his career and has built up a 23-7 professional record. After a long break from the octagon, he finally returned at UFC 278 in August 2022 to beat Alexander Romanov by a majority decision. That was an effective response after suffering a unanimous defeat against Alexander Volkov at UFC 267 in 2021.

Tybura has been a prominent force in the heavyweight division throughout his career, winning the Performance of the Night bonus with successive TKO finishes of Greg Hardy and Walt Harris in 2020 and 2021, respectively. The latter of those victories was the fifth straight win in the octagon, but the winning streak ended at the hands of Volkov in October 2021.

The Polish heavyweight is currently the tenth-ranked heavyweight in UFC, and he was previously the M-1 Global Heavyweight champion. He is yet to reach the same heights in UFC, but there is a sense in the UFC odds that he could be just too good for Ivanov this weekend.

Blagoy Ivanov

Five positions separate these heavyweight rivals in the rankings, with Ivanov currently ranked as the 15th-best fighter in the division. However, he has been no stranger to elite competitions throughout his career, which includes landing the 2008 Combat Cambo World Championship and representing Bulgaria at the 2012 Olympic Games.

To date, he has fought professionally in MMA on 24 previous occasions, claiming victory on 19 occasions. However, he has lost three times, with all defeats coming by decision. The Bulgarian made his long-awaited return to the octagon in May 2022 at UFC 274, as he picked up a unanimous decision success over Marcos Rogerio de Lima in Phoenix. That success was a much-needed win for Ivanov, who had lost the previous two fights.

However, it was a pleasing return to MMA after nearly a two-year break from active competition. There is little doubt that he can throw big shots, but he will need to record a career-best effort to upset the Tybura vs Ivanov prediction from us this weekend.

Marcin Tybura vs. Blagoy Ivanov Betting Prediction

These two veteran heavyweights will almost certainly be set for a war when they clash at Fight Night on Saturday. Given that we haven’t seen either fighter for a while, it makes UFC predictions fairly difficult this weekend, but both will feel as though they have a solid chance of recording the victory

We are confident that the judges will be needed to decide the winner of this bout as we struggle to see a spectacular finish on the horizon. But, the preference for the winner is Tybura, who should dominate with his offensive wrestling.

UFC Pick 1: Over 2.5 Rounds (-275)

UFC Pick 2: Marcin Tybura by Decision (+137)
