U2 talks of new album in the works, Nelson Mandela

Bono is in the recording studio. He is playing a track from the band's work-in-progress April album. Bono plays air guitar and sings along with the song.

U2 had a disappointing album in 2009 with "No Line on the Horizon" and they worked on some aborted projects. Now they are working on a new album and bringing in producer Danger Mouse. They have recently released their first new song in nearly three years, "Ordinary Love" from the soundtrack to the Mandela biopic "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom". The song was nominated for a Golden Globe last week. It is likely to get an Oscar nod next month. The article about the band U2 in the Dec. 19 Calendar section misspelled the last name of drummer Larry Mullen Jr. as Mullens.
