UFC fight fixing: When Dana White issued "federal prison" warning as a consequence of UFC fight fixing: Throwback

Dana White will not allow those implicated in the UFC betting controversy to escape with minor charges. James Krause, a former fighter-turned-coach, was recently accused of rigging a fight involving Darrick Minner.

Krause's involvement in the betting incident resulted in the suspension of his corner license by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and the restriction of betting on UFC events by regulators in Ontario and Alberta.

ESPN's research revealed that unknown sources allege that they placed wagers through James Krause, who has served as an agent for ABCBetting.ag since 2019. According to insiders, Krause offered a credit line and referral bonuses. He took payments via Venmo and PayPal.

Dana White, understandably infuriated by the incident, gave a "federal prison" warning as a result of fixing fights. Dana White took a tough stand and offered a stern warning during the UFC Vegas 64 post-fight press conference:

"I am not worried about it at all. People ask me well, what’s the UFC gonna do? We let these guys know not to bet on fights. Do you know what the outcome of this is? If I penalize them, you get cut. They are gonna go to f***ing federal prison.”

Catch White's comments below:

It all started when the bout between Darrick Minner and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at UFC Fight Night 215 sparked unusual betting patterns. Even as his odds soared to -450, bets on Nuerdanbieke poured in prior to the match.

Krause, who is well-known for operating a betting syndicate through which he distributes MMA betting picks, admitted after the fight that Minner had a knee injury. Krause and two of his athletes, Darrick Minner and Jeff Molina, were permanently suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC).

Why can't Dana White bet in casinos in Las Vegas?

Dana White has revealed several times in the past that he is a prolific gambler. He often spends many hours at a time at the tables in Las Vegas, where he has been known to win handsomely. However, following some of his great winning streaks, large hotel and casino establishments such as the Wynn have apparently banned him.

Dana White is rumored to have earned as much as $7 million in a single night during his best hand. Yet, despite widespread speculation to the contrary, he has not been banned from any of the city's most popular destinations; rather, he has encountered significant resistance from some establishments.

In a segment on GQ Sports, Dana White answered fan questions and revealed the truth behind his apparent gambling ban in Las Vegas:

"It's not that I'm banned from casinos, it's just that they don't want me to play there. They won't give me the limits that I want and let me bet as much as I want because they don't like to lose."
"The Palm has kicked me out of there twice, the Mirage, the Wynn will not let me play. The only places that will let me play in town are Cesar's Palace, the Bellagio and the Venetian, all of those guys take really big play, but if you are a big player and you come into town you're insane not to play at Caesar's Palace. Caesar's Palace is by far the best casino in the world."
