UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivak 9/2

The UFC returns to France this Saturday, with hometown heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane set to take on the surging Sergey Spivak in the event’s headliner.

Moving down the rest of the card, you will find nine other bouts scheduled to take place. We are breaking down some of the biggest fights on the card and providing our three favorite bets.

  • Who: Ciryl Gane vs. Sergey Spivak
  • What: UFC Fight Night
  • When: Saturday, Sept. 2 at 3:00 p.m. ET
  • Where: Accor Arena, Paris, France

Below, you will find our top three favorite bets to make for UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivak:

**All of the odds seen below were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook on 8/31/23**

No. 2 ranked heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane is fighting in his own backyard, making his first appearance since being submitted in the opening round of his title bout against Jon Jones.

No. 7 ranked heavyweight Sergey Spivak is riding a three-fight finish streak that includes an opening-round submission win over Derrick Lewis in his last outing.

This is a classic striker versus grappler matchup on paper. Clearly, the oddsmakers believe Spivak is a worthy opponent for Gane who has fought nothing but the division’s best for the past three years.

We believe that Gane’s striking and movement will keep Spivak on the outside for the majority of this fight. Gane was handled by Jones in his last fight, leading us to believe he has focused more on wrestling since then. Spivak has been finished twice in his UFC career (both via TKO), and we could see Gane stopping him with strikes or out-pointing him en route to a decision win.

A $20 wager at -166 odds will yield a $32.04 payout.

This co-main event is a very intriguing women’s flyweight matchup. Manon Fiorot is a perfect 5-0 inside the octagon, with a pair of unanimous decision wins over top-10 opposition her last two times out.

She is taking on former two-time women’s strawweight champ Rose Namajunas, who is coming off of a split-decision defeat to Carla Esparza in her most recent bout. Namajunas will be making her flyweight debut this Saturday.

Fiorot will have a slight height and reach advantage. Both women are elite strikers, but Fiorot is a three-time K-1 national champion. The pair’s last five combined bouts have gone the distance, so we’re taking Fiorot to pick up a victory on the scorecards in her home nation.

A $20 wager at +130 odds will yield a $46.00 payout.

One prelim matchup that we’re really interested in is a welterweight bout between Switzerland’s Ange Loosa and Northern Ireland’s Rhys McKee.

Loosa is 1-1 in the UFC, with a solid decision win over AJ Fletcher in August 2022. He has also gone the distance against quality opposition in Mounir Lazzez and Jack Della Maddalena.

McKee is 0-2 in the UFC and is beginning his second stint with the organization. He was released after losing to Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Morono. Since then, he has earned three-straight finishes under the Cage Warriors banner.

We like McKee. Losing to Chimaev in his octagon debut and Morono via decision in his second outing doesn’t cause us to lose faith in him. At +150, we like McKee to earn a victory this Saturday as the underdog.

A $20 wager at +150 odds will yield a $50.00 payout.
