Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi

Location of the fight: UFC APEX, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Date and Time: June 3, 2023, 9:00 PM ET

How to Watch: ESPN+

Kara-France is making his return after losing his title fight against Brandon Moreno last year.

Albazi is coming off a spectacular KO finish of Alessandro Costa last December.

Kara-France is now 30 years old and in the middle of his fighting prime. Trying to remain on top of the flyweight division. With a record of 24-10 with 14 finishes under his belt, he has all the experience he needs to be where he wants to be right now.

He averages 4.70 significant strikes landed per minute inside the octagon while absorbing 3.57 in that minute as well. On top of those impressive striking numbers, Kara-France holds a very solid 87% takedown defense in his UFC career thus far.

Albazi is a 29-year-old with an impressive record of 16-1 with 14 finishes. He is currently 4-0 in the UFC, with three of those wins coming via finish. He has power in his hands and submission skills on the ground. As a newcomer to these types of big fights, this is an opportunity for him to put his name on the map and possibly even get the next title shot.

He has accumulated an average of 3.54 significant strikes landed. And 2.47 significant strikes absorbed per minute in his first four fights for the promotion. The wrinkle to his game that makes him so dominant? The 2.47 takedowns he lands per 15 minutes at a 50% clip.

No injuries have been reported to the UFC or NSAC.

After breaking down the Kara France vs Albazi betting analysis, let’s take a look at the UFC odds available for this great fight.

Most sportsbooks have this as a straight-up pick ‘em fight with both guys at -110 odds. This seems like the best oddsmakers can do with all the unknown coming from Albazi. Especially against top fighters in the world. Kara-France has proven success against the best, but now we get to see if Albazi’s dominance translates against a world-class fighter.

The over/under is set at 3.5 rounds for this one, which is also seemingly a perfect betting line. This fight is an example of how incredibly hard betting on MMA is, especially in the UFC. This sport is so unpredictable, and when you put two of the best together in the cage, it gets even harder to pick.

The most interesting betting lines are Albazi winning inside the distance at +160 and Kara-France doing the same at +300. This tells us that oddsmakers see the better finisher being Albazi–probably due to his three finishes in the UFC.

After looking at this fight analytically, breaking down film, and peaking at the betting lines available, it is clear that this fight is truly a pick ‘em bet.

  • The official Kara France vs Albazi betting prediction is that Kara-France is going to get his hand raised.

His team at City Kickboxing in New Zealand, along with Eugene Bareman as head coach, is going to give Kara-France a slight edge.

He is going to be prepared and will be able to make better adjustments over 25 minutes on Saturday night. If Albazi wins, it will be a flash knockdown and submission or ground-and-pound finish. But I truly think that Kara-France will grind out a decision or even a 5th round finish.
