UIL high school football championship game predictions

Benjamin and Loraine are playing for the Class A Division II championship on Wednesday. It's the second time Ben is covering a state championship game. He's been a sports writer since 2007. Ben has spent a lot of time in Wichita Falls and his first game was two seasons ago. He used to work for Boys & Girls Club and Times Record News. Several of the athletes he covered as high school athletes are now high schools coaches. His job is to capture these moments and make them immortal. The team he covers is Benjamin. They are going to play at AT&T Stadium on Thursday. For the team, he's covering the game is Ben.

Galena Park North Shore beats Duncanville for the fourth time in the past five years. David Amador deserves to be crowned Mr. Texas Football for his performance at quarterback for Duncanviln.

Austin Vandegrift beat Katy to win the UIL Class 6A Division II championship. DeSoto beat Denton Guyer last week.   For the championship game, I can't make the pick.

Aledo is going to the state championship game. Aledo has won 13 straight games. College Station lost its head coach and top two running backs from last season's state finalist.

Port Neches-Groves beat South Oak Cliff in the state championship game. PNG has a dominant defense and great offensive line. Andres Sandoval is a kicker who can hit from 45 yards consistently. The team that beat Fort Bend Marshall two weeks ago and dominated Liberty Hill in state semifinals has caught my attention.

China Spring will win the championship game against Boerne. China Spring has the best player on the field in quarterback Cash McCollum. Boeherne's defense will struggle to solve him.

Carthage beat Glen Rose 40-27 last week. Wimberley will be tested by Scott Surratt's team. Suratt will win his ninth state title in as many tries. He will tie Gordon Wood for most state championships for a Texas high school football head coach.

Franklin will play Brock in the state championship game. Franklin has a lot of offensive weapons. Brock doesn't have that one stud who breaks open a game, although Reid Watkins is a very impressive runner.

Gunter is going for a third straight state title. Poth has not played a schedule near Gunter's level.

Refugio will play Hawley for the UIL Class 2A Division I championship. The Bobcats beat Shiner for second time this season and edged Timpson. Both Shiners and Tim Simpson were in the state title contention conversation.

Albany will beat Mart 25-22 in the championship game. The team reminds me of the 2020 Windthorst championship team. The Lions have a lot of experience and a veteran coach.

Westbrook avenged their loss to Garden City in the first round of the playoffs. The Wildcats have the best player on the field in running back Cedric Ware. Abbott's defense has been impressive, but the Panthers haven't been tested as much as Westbrook.

Benjamin and Loraine are playing in the state championship week. Benjamin won the regular season game against Lorain 61-30. Grayson Rigdon has scored on 65 percent of his touches this season.
