Midland Legacy (1-0) won their first game 47-21 over Amarillo High. Amarillio Tascosa (0-1) beat Amarilla Palo Duro 35-7. Texas Tech commit Avion Carter is not expected to play this week.

North Crowley (1-0) plays Arlington High (0-1) this week. North Crowley won last week 50-12 over Arlington Sam Houston. Arlington won 40-37 over Mesquite. Drelon Burton ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns for Arlington.

Denton Guyer (1-0) beat Rockwall-heath 47-14. Aledo (0-1) lost to Parish Episcopal 24-17 last week. Denton Gyer's defense is the team Alado should be worried about.

Killeen Harker Heights (1-0) beat Killeens Ellison 33-7. Smithson Valley (0-1) won 14-13 over San Antonio Reagan. Freddie Dubose left the game in the fourth quarter and his status for this week is in question.

Fort Bend Hightower (1-0) takes on Spring Westfield (0-1) in their first game since their return to Class 6A. Highter beat Pearland Dawson 29-17 last week. Spring Wertfield demolished Cypress Park 63-3 last time.

Humble Atascocita (1-0) is coming to Katy to play a state ranked team. At ascocitas beat Dickinson 37-1 last week. Katy (0-2) cruised past Clear Springs 49-16.

San Antonio Brandeis (1-0) and San Antonio Brennan (0-1) are playing each other. Brandes beat San Antonio O’Connor 27-17 on Friday night. Brennan lost to Steele 35-34 on Saturday night, but they will bounce back this week. Stepp's picks Brennan to win by 12.

Fort Bend Marshall (1-0) is playing their first game of the season. They beat Klein 14-7 last week. Crosby (0-1) lost to Houston King 63- 7 last time. Stepp's pick is Fort BendMarshall by 6.
