Paddy Power Darts Prize Money

There’s a £2.5m prize pot at the PDC Worlds this winter. The winner walks home with a £500,000 cheque, and even those who lose in the first round get £7,500 for their efforts.

Here’s a breakdown for the prize money in 2024:

  • Winner – £500,000
  • Runner-up – £200,000
  • Semi-finalists – £100,000
  • Quarter-finalists – £50,000
  • Fourth round losers – £35,000
  • Third round losers – £25,000
  • Second round losers – £15,000
  • First round losers – £7,500

World Darts Championship Outright Odds

Paddy Power set the outright odds for the PDC World Championship before the first- and second-round draws were even complete! How we know the draw the market has altered to provide punters with the most accurate darts odds available.

Here are the latest outright darts betting odds for the Worlds:

  • Michael van Gerwen – 4.50
  • Luke Humphries – 4.50
  • Gerwyn Price – 6.50
  • Michael Smith – 10.00
  • Gary Anderson – 17.00
  • Rob Cross – 17.00
  • Peter Wright – 17.00
  • Nathan Aspinall – 29.00

The outright darts odds are somewhat unusual for a World Championship. For a start, there are three big favourites in Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price. Van Gerwen’s dominance in the betting has slipped over the past 12 months and he was the defeated finalist to Michael Smith last January.

Gerwyn Price is an expected presence in the top of the betting here, but for those who don’t follow darts all year round the big surprise is Luke Humphries. The Englishman has had a breakout year, winning the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam and, most recently, the Players’ Championship Finals. He’s never made it past the quarters at the World Darts Championship but many believe this is Humphries’ year.

World Darts Championship Live Betting Tips

The obvious choice when betting on darts is to gravitate towards Michael van Gerwen but his odds don’t always provide value. Here are some quick dates betting tips to get you ready for the Worlds:

  • Weigh up MVG – Michael van Gerwen has the pedigree and historic form to wipe away the opposition here. In previous years like 2017 and 2019 he has ruled supreme at the Ally Pally and looked unstoppable. But MVG does have chinks in his armour, as Humphries exposed at the recent Players Championship Finals. Backing Van Gerwen at 4.50 to win a fourth title is not an easy decision. He has just a 50% win record in finals.
  • Track Humphries – Luke Humphries may have three major titles under his belt this year but the Worlds are uncharted territory. He’s proved he can handle the favourite tag at other events but what about the Ally Pally? It may be a nervous Humphries that takes to the oche to face either Lee Evans or Sandro Eric Sosing. All eyes are on him. For bettors, it’s worth tracking Humphries in these early rounds and seeing how he’s sinking those doubles. If he looks unruffled then he’s a good bet to win the whole thing.
  • Ignore the field – You can bet on the Big Three vs The Field at Paddy Power. Right now it’s best to stick with the Big Three. The odds suggest one of MVG, Humphries and Price are winning this event. Michael Smith, the top seed but fourth favourite, is out at 10.00. He feels like the only force who can stop the Big Three and, at 1.80, they’re worth backing.

PDC Darts Acca Tips

Plenty of punters focus on darts accas during the Worlds as they’re the best way to squeeze extra profit potential from your bets. Here are a couple of quick accumulator darts tips heading into the tournament:

  • All eyes on Round 2 – The second round is where the big seeds enter the fray and their match odds are usually tiny. We’re talking odds of 1.20 and shorter for the likes of MVG to win their opening matches. So, throw the big boys together in one big acca and get a bigger payout when backing near-guarantee selections.
  • Bank on Match Trebles – If betting on big favourites doesn’t yield the profit margins you want then consider match treble accas. Back players to win, score the most 180s and nail the highest checkout. This three-fold acca is perfect for maximising profit potential.

Darts Power Prices

Paddy Power is offering Power Prices on scores of bets throughout the Worlds this winter, and the first is already proving popular!

Get boosted odds from 34.00 to 51.00 on the following multiple:

Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries all to win their quarter-final matches

Effectively, you’re betting on the top four seeds to all make the semis. This isn’t particularly common in darts, which is why the odds were already pretty high before the Power Price boost. Still, these four have proved to be head and shoulders above the field this season, and this multiple is worth considering.
