What were Luke Littler's pre-tournament odds? How his price changed round-by-round

Luke Littler has defied the odds to reach the Ally Pally final.

The teenage whizzkid - who was only born when Tony Blair was finishing his reign as the UK's prime minister - will bid to become the youngest-ever champion of darts' biggest prize when he takes on Luke Humphries on Wednesday night.

Humphries is the odds-on favourite for victory, but upsetting odds is something that Littler has done ever since his debut on the Alexandra Palace stage three weeks ago.

Despite being just 16 years old, his record so far in the Paddy Power PDC World Darts Championship stands at 27 set wins to only six losses. In legs, it's 84-50.

Almost nobody saw the run coming, which has seen him dump out a former BDO champ and two previous PDC winners. Despite being aware of his potential, bookmakers certainly did not think he would go all the way.

Before he took part in the World Youth Final at the Players' Championship event in November, Ladbrokes had him as big a price as 80/1 to win the World Championship.

But he was so good against Gian van Veen, he was cut to 50/1 for the start of the Worlds. And that was just the start of a journey which now sees him 6/5 heading into the game against Humphries.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "It would undoubtedly go down as the biggest upset we've ever seen at Ally Pally... never before have we seen anything close to what Luke Littler is producing on stage right now."

He added: "Plenty of savvy punters were on the youngster off the back of his World Youth win in November, but people really started to take notice when he blew away Cristian Kist on his Ally Pally debut... to go from 50/1 to just 5/1 in the matter of hours is nothing short of incredible."

"He's done it the hard way, too, having seen off two former world champs in Raymond van Barneveld and Rob Cross, and punters' interest has grown with every dart thrown; he might be the slight outsider to win the Sid Waddell Trophy tonight, but Littler certainly has the backing of the bettors up to this point, with around three in four punters fancying him to get the better of Luke Humphries tonight."
