Union's Ernst Tanner explains Paxten Aaronson's transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt

Pexten Aaronson has been sold to Eintracht Frankfurt. Joe Cummings, former United Soccer Coaches CEO, says the idea was to bring together a smart mind from a top MLS team at youth development and a good mind of a European team.

The panel asked questions about the development of youth players and the transfer fee revenue earned by the Union. Eintracht signed Paxten Aaronson from the German club. Tanner worked at Red Bull Salzburg's youth academy from 2009-12. The Union have netted $21 million in transfer fees over the last three years. The fee earned includes a sell-on fee and incentive clauses. There are also some smaller deals along the way. It's worth $5 million less than the original fee. Leeds United bought Brenden from Salhburg for $30 million. Genk bought Mark McKenzie for about $6 million, and Eintersachts bought Paxton for around $4 million from them.
