USC-UCLA and other college football best bets for Week 12
Both Oregon and UCLA lost last Saturday. USC is the only team that can make it to the College Football Playoff. The Trojans play their crosstown rival UCLA this week. TCU, Tennessee, Clemson, North Carolina and LSU are also in the CFP hunt. The team is 3-3 against the spread for the third straight week, thanks to late-night results.
USC plays against UCLA. The game is the biggest Crosstown rivalry game in years. USC is No. 7 in the CFP rankings. UCLA has nothing to lose and would love to take their rival down. The Trojans are going to feel a lot more heat.
Illinois is playing at No. 3 Michigan on Saturday at 11 a.m. on ABC. Illinois has lost two games in a row and is on a two-game losing streak. Michigan is No 19 nationally in yards per play and more than a full yard better per snap than Illinois.
Kansas State is playing West Virginia at 1 p.m. The Mountaineers beat Oklahoma last week. K-State has been better than West Virginian in almost every statistical category. The pick is Kansas State 31, West Virgina 20.
No. 2 Ohio State is 1-2 against the spread on the road and must cover a big number against a top-20 passing defense. Maryland has been 4-1 at home and has a better record than Ohio.
Western Kentucky is a team that has been disappointing this year. Auburn has played better recently, but focus may be waning as the team winds down under interim coach Cadillac Williams. Western Kentucky spread you out on defense and wait for a blown coverage. The last time WKU played a power conference team, it threw away a game down the stretch against Indiana.
Georgia Tech is on the road against North Carolina. The Tar Heels are having a great season. They are three wins away from reaching the CFP. Drake Maye is a Heisman candidate. North Carolinians are 3-0 in the ACC and have clinched a spot in ACC Championship Game.
USC-UCLA is a good bet for Week 12. Last week, USC was 3-3 straight up and 3 -3 against the spread.
