The Hornets lost their opening game on the road on Monday night as they were dominated 111-70 by the UAB Blazers. On Monday, the Trojan's team was defeated by Florida Gulf Coast Eagles 74-61.

Alabama State Hornets are a good offensive team. They scored 70 points against the UAB Blazers. Sophomore guard TJ Madlock led the team with 25 points. The team's defense was terrible as they allowed 111 points to the Blazers and made 31 fouls. USC lost size with Isaiah Mobley getting drafted into the NBA. USC struggled offensively as the only player on the roster that is upperclassmen.

Alabama State Hornets are not a very good team right now. The Hornets need to prove that they can defend before I consider backing them. USC showed some promise in their first game.
