Virginia football team opens as a slight underdog for season finale against Virginia Tech

The Virginia football team opened as slight underdog for its season finale against Virginia Tech at Scott Stadium when the first betting lines for Week 13 games were posted on Sunday.

The sports book Circa Sports, which releases early betting lines for the following week's games each Sunday during the season, listed the Hokies as a two-point favorite for Saturday's matchup at Scott Stadium, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. and will air on ACC Network.

The opening over/under (projected total points scored by both teams) is 51.5 points.

Virginia (3-8, 2-5 ACC) is coming off a 30-27 victory over Duke, while the Hokies (5-6, 4-3) are looking to bounce back from a 35-28 loss to N.C. State. The Cavaliers have been betting underdogs in the majority of their games this season, but are 8-3 against the spread this season.

Other opening college football lines of note for Week 13 .

• James Madison (10-1, 6-1 Sun Belt) is an 11-point favorite for its road matchup with Sun Belt East foe Coastal Carolina (3:30 p.m. Saturday, ESPN2).

• Liberty (11-0, 7-0 Conference USA) is an 18-point favorite for its road game against UTEP (3:30 p.m. Saturday, CBS Sports Network). 

• Old Dominion's (5-6, 4-3 Sun Belt) season finale against Georgia State opened as a pick 'em, meaning neither team is favored to win. The Monarchs need a win to become bowl eligible.
