Wagga preview: Tips, best bets and inside mail, Sunday races, Daily Telegraph

Moon Stories is favourite to win the Wagga Stayers Series (1800m) on Sunday. His stablemate Foxtrot Bravo is second favourite. Maddison's Missile starts the day for trainer Theresa Bateup in a Class 2 Handicap (1000m). She's been running consistently but lacks the killer punch. She paid the penalty for winning an ordinary Provincial and Country maidens at Wyong before she got her. She cost $40,000 and has earned a little more than $1,500 in five runs. Batesup wants to take her to the Queensland Derby. The weather stopped her from going to an Australian Derby last year.

Mooon Stories won last time by five lengths. He is on a Queensland Derby path.

Miss Kirriabella is from a good stable and trialled up without effort. She should be making a promising start to her career in her maiden race.

Landmine won last start. Landmine is a good bet for Race 6 No.2.

Robert and Luke Price are training for the event. So I See looks like a leading contender in the first race. Verbek looks ready to win in third event, so he's a contender to watch.

Mathew Cahill might have to wait until the last of the day for his best ride in Miss Kirribilli.

So I See gets in on the limit after showing promise last time in. My Girona draws the widest gate but has the ability to take a sit and run on. Brilliant Speed should get and easier run from a better barrier now.

Nick Olive's pair of Nephradiva and Mooshaka should head the market here. My Bold Boy shoots for three straight wins. Openhimup had excuses last start after drawing wide and going back to the rear.

Verbek has run five seconds and two thirds from 10 runs so far. Espirito ran second on debut at Albury. Big Baz is also coming off a placing and further improvement third-up gives him a chance.

Moon Stories is favourite for Race 4. Theresa Bateup wants to get Moon Stories to the Queensland Derby this winter. Foxtrot Bravo is second favourite. Wise Dragon and No Question are improving. Mahsinger is also looking for this trip now.

Broadside Armour is going to give away 6kg to much of the field in Race 5. Bianco Vilano wasn't beaten far in the Albury Guineas and meets Riddlero 2.5kg better at the weights.

Landmine is favourite to win at Wagga. O'Reg has run second at three of his past four races. Accure hasn't won over a trip this short but has trialled up well. Nats Enough is getting more confident.

Tim Donnelly has a knack of finding nice horses and he might be unleashing his latest one with Miss Kirribilli here. Improper got caught wide on debut and she will get a much better run from the barrier this time. Alpine Lady has wide gate for her first run but she let the speed go in her barrier trial so that might also be the plan again.
