Waller: Cox Plate ‘very even' after stars stumble
Zaaki and Verry Elleegant were beaten in the Cox Plate last start. The trainer Chris Waller feels it's a very even contest. Dalasan and Callsign Mav are the only outsiders in 10-horse contest, but they're not getting much support. Winx dominated the betting boards in last three of her four consecutive Cox Plates wins. Very Elieegants unplaced in Group 1 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington earlier this month. Verries appetite has also been reduced after arriving for the Melbourne spring in years past. She won the Caulfield Cup after that.
