Warriors vs. Nets NBA expert prediction and odds for Monday, Feb. 5 (Bet Brooklyn)

Steph Curry’s 60-point night couldn’t keep the Warriors from falling to the Atlanta Hawks in overtime on Saturday, 141-134. Golden State is trying to fight its way back into the postseason picture in the Western Conference, but has dropped its last three games by a combined nine points, with two overtime defeats. Golden State is currently +275 to make the playoffs and will try to get right on the road in Brooklyn Monday.

Despite wins in three of its last four games, the Nets are trending toward missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2017-18 season. Brooklyn is currently No. 11 in the Eastern Conference but are coming off a 15-point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on the road. Klay Thompson: The second 'Splash Brother' struggled again in Saturday’s loss to Atlanta. Thompson finished with just 10 points and went 4-of-19 from the field and just 2-of-13 from beyond the arc. Thompson has now shot 45% or worse in eight consecutive games and is just 4-of-22 from deep in two February contests. He’s averaging 17.3 points per game this year, his lowest total since the 2012-13 season (16.6).

Cam Thomas: The 2021 first-round pick is averaging 21.7 points per game this season. Thomas ended January on fire with four consecutive games with over 25 points. He continued it in his first February contest, dropping 40 points on 14-of-26 shooting with five 3-pointers in Brooklyn’s 136-121 win over Philadelphia. 

Brooklyn’s offense has been excellent since being stymied by Minnesota’s top-ranked defense in a 96-94 loss Jan. 25. In the four games since, the Netsare averaging 127.2 points, which includes a 147-point outing at Barclays Center against the Utah Jazz a week ago. 

Brooklyn now gets a matchup against a Golden State defense that hasn’t improved significantly since veteran enforcer Draymond Green returned from suspension. Golden State is still No. 22 in the NBA in defensive rating after allowing Atlanta to shoot 48.2% from the field with 27 assists against just 8 turnovers.
