Tonight the Washington Capitals open up a critical road trip after two big wins and a successful trade deadline. Capital One Arena will be hosting the ACC Tournament.

Tonight the Caps will finally see a good western conference team in the Jets for the first time this season. But the Caps have been good too and it helped keep some players on the bubble into staying. Not that they wanted to leave. The wins gave the brass headaches as they figured out an on the fly retool.

While the Jets are good, the Caps swept the season series with them a season ago. Up to this point from Feb. 17 in their last 10 games, the Capitals are 7-2-1. They have to keep winning in order to get a kick at the can when the whole world is watching and the games truly mater. Yes I'm talking about the playoffs.
