NHL best bets today (Goals will come in bunches in Sabres vs. Capitals)

The new year gives us a chance to mentally reset as we prepare for the second half of the hockey season. For the first time in 2023, I break down my three best bets for Tuesday night’s slate of games.

Sabres/Capitals are going to score a lot in their game. Flames are -135 vs. Jets and Kings are +105 vs the Stars.

Sabres and Caps are playing each other tonight. Sabres are the top team in the NHL in shooting percentage, while Caps score on 13.16% of their shots. They are also the best team on the road, scoring 8.6 goals per game over that stretch. The game is going to be a goal-scoring contest.

Calgary Flames are first in the NHL in CORSI%, while Winnipeg Jets are 19th. Jets have had some offensive issues recently, and they are 20th in expected goals for over their last 10 games. Flames -135 is a good bet for tonight.

Jonathan Quick has an .884 save percentage this season. Pheonix Copley has a record of 8-1 and a .905 save Percentage this year. Los Angeles has been playing well in their own end lately, ranking third in expected goals against over their last 10 games.
