Week 0 College Football Best Bets This Weekend

We have REAL Football this weekend!

It’s not the NFL, but it’s also not any preseason nonsense.

We are blessed with seven real, meaningful College Football games this weekend to kick off the season.

Week 0 is upon us and we’ve got your best bets for all the action on the gridiron for Saturday’s action.

Saturday’s College Football Week 0 Slate

Like I said, we just have seven games on the slate, but I’m just excited to have football back.

Here are the current games and spreads according to Bovada.

  • Navy vs Notre Dame (-20.5) *In Ireland*
  • UTEP (-1) @ Jacksonville State
  • Massachusetts @ New Mexico State (-6.5)
  • Ohio @ San Diego State (-2.5)
  • Hawaii @ Vanderbilt (-17.5)
  • San Jose State @ USC (-30.5)
  • Florida International @ Louisiana Tech (-11)

Isn’t she beautiful?

We only have three games projected to end within one score, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t picks to be found out there.

I’ve located a few for Week 0 that I’ll share with you today.

Let’s talk some football!

College Football Week 0 Best Bets

Navy @ Notre Dame (In Ireland)

Matchup Information

  • Venue & Location: Aviva Stadium (Dublin, Ireland)
  • Date: Saturday, August 26th, 2023
  • Kick Off: 2:30pm Eastern
  • Broadcast: NBC

The Pick: Navy/Notre Dame Over 48.5 (-115) BetOnline

All eyes will be on Sam Hartman this year. The Wake Forest transfer looks to lead the 13th ranked Irish back to College Football Playoff for the 3rd time and 1st since 2021.

This is going to be an electric offense with a future NFL Quarterback at the helm.

With a total at 49, I’m comfortable in the Irish putting up 30-35 easily.

Navy, as a rush heavy offense, might struggle to move the ball and score, but will definitely chew some clock with the new College Football rules.

Bonus Bet: Notre Dame TT Over 34.5 (-135) Bovada

This is sort of to cover our own behind if Notre Dame wins this game 42-3, which I could very well see them doing.

It would not surprise me if Hartman and the Irish clear this over by themselves, so I’m comfortable paying the juiceman as a safety net.

Ohio @ San Diego State

Matchup Information

  • Venue & Location: Snapdragon Stadium (San Diego, CA)
  • Date: Saturday, August 26th, 2023
  • Kick Off: 7:00pm Eastern
  • Broadcast: FS1

The Pick: Ohio +2.5 (-105) Bovada

Quarterback Kutris Rourke returns from a torn ACL to lead this Bobcats team in a tough opening road matchup against the Aztecs of San Diego State.

Ohio’s offense put up over 30 points per game last season, and with Rourke back under center, this team could win the MAC.

The Aztecs went 7-5 and lost in the EasyPost Hawaii Bowl to Middle Tennessee.

The Bobcats have beaten their last three Mountain West opponents, and I don’t think Jalen Mayden and the Aztecs are a match for the Bobcats.

As always with the small dogs, sprinkle on the ML (+115).

Florida International @ Louisiana Tech

Matchup Information

  • Venue & Location: Joe Aillet Stadium (Ruston, LA)
  • Date: Saturday, August 26th, 2023
  • Kick Off: 9:00pm Eastern
  • Broadcast: CBS Sports Network

The Pick: Louisiana Tech -11 (-110) Bovada

This game has Bulldogs written all over it.

They are projected to finish 5th in the CUSA this year, while their Panther opponents are projected 9th, dead last.

The only conference game to in this Week 0 slate, I like the Bulldogs to jump out on top early and never look back.

Saturday night, in front of their home crowd, the Bulldogs should put on a show and beat FIU by at least a couple touchdowns, probably three scores.
