Week 12: Group of Five Best Bets

I came close to a perfect 5-0 week of Group of Five bets last week, going 4-1. My lone loss came in the Air Force-New Mexico game when I wagered on under 37.5 points. This week I'm trying to grab a 5th week before the season ends. I am 33-27 (55%) on my Group. of 5 best bets this season.

San Diego State is a 14.5-point favorite at New Mexico. The Aztecs have a top-60 defense and one of the best special teams units in the country. NewMexico is 2-8 and has not lost a game by single digits this season.

LSU is 8-2 and 6-1 in the SEC. UAB is 5-5 and needs to win one of its final two games to make a bowl game. The Blazers have lost some close games, but they run the ball well and have a good running back.

Middle Tennessee is a heavy favorite at Florida Atlantic. FAU is playing its best football of the season and has won three of its last four games. The Owls are third in C-USA in defensive efficiency.

ULM is favored by 15 points at Troy. Troy is 8-2 and 5-1 in Sun Belt play. ULM is 4-4 against teams not named Alabama or Texas.

ECU is 6-4, 3-3 in the AAC and Houston is 4-2 in AAC. ECU has a three-game home winning streak and a 21-point win over UCF. Houston has struggled defensively recently.
