West Ham vs Man United prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Sunday Premier League match

Manchester United look to bolster their top four hopes as they travel to London to take on a West Ham team that's involved in a relegation battle.

It's an important match for both sides. For Man United, they need to recover after dropping points against Brighton on Thursday, now sitting in an uncomfortable fourth place with Liverpool just over their shoulders.

It's the same situation for West Ham at the opposite end of the table. The Hammers appear to be safe from relegation, but a few slips over the final weeks of the season could put that in jeopardy.

The Sporting News football betting expert Kyle Bonn shares his best bets, props, and high risk/high return fliers for some of the biggest matches in the sport each week. West Ham vs Man United prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Man United (+105)
  • Handicap lean (spread): Man United -0.5 (+100)
  • Score prediction: West Ham 0-2 Man United

Manchester United were kept in check by Brighton last time out, but they were good enough to score a goal, and should be able to do so here.

Still, they won't blow West Ham out of the water like some Premier League sides have done so this year. Marcus Rashford is slowing as the season closes out, and they don't have a striker good enough to pick up the slack.

Interestingly, the betting market believes that West Ham can breach the Man United defence, despite the fact that United have kept four clean sheets in their last six Premier League matches.

West Ham vs Man United best bet

  • Pick: West Ham under 0.5 goals
  • Odds: +220 (BetMGM)

The Manchester United defence has been solid with Luke Shaw in at centre-back to replace Harry Maguire, and when they are breached, goalkeeper David de Gea remains one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League.

United have kept four teams from scoring in their last six Premier League matches, and they were good for it as well, conceding under 1.0 expected goals (xG) in three of those and going just barely over in the other. They even managed to keep an invigorated Brighton off the scoresheet until an extremely late and unfortunate penalty.

Prior to defeat at the hands of Man City last time out, West Ham hadn't been blanked in eight straight league matches, but the attacking output hasn't been exactly consistent, and United are a capable defensive side. These are exceptional odds for a visiting clean sheet.

West Ham vs Man United prop bet

  • Pick: Marcus Rashford to score and Man United to win
  • Odds: +188 (BetMGM)

Marcus Rashford has been slowed down the stretch of the season, but he has still been heavily involved in goal mouth actions, and against a West Ham side struggling defensively, he could find this match the perfect place to turn things around.

While he has just two goals in his last eight league matches, he has put up 4.42 xG over that span. The England star has been stymied by great goalkeeping on several occasions, including last time out against Brighton as Jason Steele kept out his tight-angle shot in the 28th minute.

Lukasz Fabianski has not been one of the better goalkeepers in the league this season, and Rashford could find an opportunity to strike in this fixture.
