Hammers knock will not be answered

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag insisted after his side’s 2-0 Carabao Cup final victory against Newcastle that they would not be getting carried away and the focus was on this game with West Ham.

The Reds now have a genuine chance to win a treble and even a quadruple but need to get past the Hammers to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

In the previous five meetings between these two sides at Old Trafford across all competitions, Manchester United have won to nil in four of them

West Ham seemed to solve their goal-scoring issues on Saturday as they thumped Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the London Stadium.

Danny Ings was the inspiration for David Moyes’s men as he scored the opening two in quick succession.

However, the 30-year-old is cup-tied for the trip to Old Trafford so we expect the Hammers to revert back to their struggles in front of goal.

No letting up for Rashford

Marcus Rashford is at the very forefront of Manchester United’s quadruple charge and scored in the 2-0 win over Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday.

The England striker now has 17 goals in 19 matches across all competitions since the World Cup and has a brilliant record against West Ham.

He has scored five times against the Hammers and has only netted more against Leicester City and Liverpool.

West Ham have only kept one clean sheet in their previous four games and could be even more vulnerable at the back with second-string goalkeeper Alphonse Areola set to start in place of the injured Lukasz Fabianski.

Quiet night for officials

Both Manchester United and West Ham have good disciplinary records this season and we have homed in on that in our #PickYourPunt.

The Hammers have received the fewest yellow cards this season in the Premier League with 29 while the Red Devils have been shown 53 in 26.

What is really interesting is that teams facing Manchester United and West Ham in the Premier League this season have received a total of 33 and 39 yellow cards respectively.

While Ten Hag’s men will be determined to win to keep their faint hopes of a quadruple alive, West Ham’s priority is avoiding relegation from the top flight.

We have therefore gone for under 19.5 booking points in the game so that means if just one or zero yellow cards are shown our bet will land – and at 3/1 it looks good value.
