West Tigers vs Redcliffe Dolphins – Match Predictions

Who will walk away with their head held high in Sydney on Saturday afternoon? Here are our top predictions ahead of the Tigers vs Dolphins this Saturday:

Redcliffe Dolphins to Win

Both teams have losing records in 2023, but the reality is, the West Tigers haven’t won a single match outside of a four game stretch between late-April and mid-May. While the Dolphins haven’t been flash themselves, losing eight of their past nine matches, in three of their past five they’ve come within less than two points of victory.

We say Wayne Bennett will get his side up for this one, and the Dolphins will grit out a tough, ugly win over the Tigers in Sydney on Saturday.

Jamayne Isaako to Score

One of the bright spots for the Dolphins this season has been winger Jamayne Isaako, who has been a prolific try scorer for his side. With 21 appearances in 2023, Isaako has scored 20 tries, averaging just a shade under one per game.

Over the past 11 games, the winger has scored in eight of these–not bad at all for a team that hasn’t been winning. We say that in a likely victory over the Tigers, there will be plenty of points scored on the fringes, and Isaako is bound to cash in on this at some stage over the 80 minutes.

West Tigers vs Redcliffe Dolphins preview

Heading into this match, here’s a look at how both teams’ seasons have gone so far in the NRL 2023:

West Tigers

This is about as bad as an NRL season gets. With the except of one small patch of form, where the Tigers upset the Panthers, then went on to thump the Cowboys and pip the Dragons as well, the West Sydney team are winless. With 18 losses to their names, the Tigers are virtually guaranteed the wooden spoon in 2023–unless by some miracle they beginning winning, and catch the Dragons who are four points ahead of them.

Redcliffe Dolphins

Largely expected to be a punching bag this year, instead the Dolphins began 2023 by punching above their weight, winning seven of their first 12 matches. Since then, however, the NRL’s newest team have well and truly come off the boil, only winning one more match, for an overall record of 8-13 putting them in 14th place on the ladder.
