Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters prediction and odds: NRL 2023 Round 25

This Friday night in the NRL, two teams desperately scrap it out to remain in contention for the post-season. For one, their season likely ends here. Read on for our Eels vs Roosters predictions.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters – Match Predictions

One of these teams keeps their top eight hopes alive, the other leaves all but dead and buried in 2023. Here are our top predictions ahead of the Eels vs Roosters this Friday:

Sydney Roosters to Win

Here’s the honest truth–neither of these teams have been great this season. There’s a reason why we’re at this stage of the season, and neither of them sit inside the top eight. However, the Roosters have been the better of the two, and it feels like they have more to lose as well if they don’t make the playoffs this year.

Expect a gritty win from the Roosters to give them a glimmer of hope in 2023.

Roosters to Win by 1-12

We say this is going to be a tight one, however. The Eels fans will show up in force to try will their team across the line in Parramatta, and that won’t make life easy for the Roosters.

Over the past few months, the majority of the Roosters wins have been tight affairs. The team simply has struggled to really put worse sides away, and with all the pressure of getting across the line in this game, don’t expect anything flash from the chooks.

Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters preview

Heading into this match, here’s a look at how both teams’ seasons have gone so far in the NRL 2023:

Parramatta Eels

After having made the eight last year, the Eels have been underwhelming in 2023. To date, the side has 11 wins and 11 losses, sitting on 26 points–two shy of eighth place, but with a poor point differential as well. It’s looking like consecutive wins will be required to make the playoffs–and they have the Panthers in their final game.

Sydney Roosters

Much the same for the Roosters. Sydney were widely touted to be Penrith’s big challengers in 2023 with their signing of Brandon Smith, but that has fallen flat on its face, with the Roosters sitting in 11th, having won 10 and lost 11. They still have a shot at making the cut, but with a points differential of -84, it’s not looking good.

Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters head to head

Sydney lead the head to head between these sides, winning 25 of the 40 matches between the two teams. Earlier this season, the Roosters won a tight 28-20 match in Sydney.
