What Can We Expect from the 2022 T20 Cricket World Cup?
The 2022 T20 Cricket World Cup gets underway in Australia in October. The first match is Sri Lanka vs. Namibia on October 16. Main venues listed to host matches are Adelaide Oval, The Gabba, Kardinia Park, Bellerive Oval and Perth Stadium. Semi-finals will be held at Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide. Oval on November 9 and November 10. Melbourne Cricket ground will host the final on Nov 13.
The qualification stage for the T20 Cricket World Cup takes place at the qualification group stage. The groups A and B are for this year's qualification.
The winner and runner-up from each group progress to the next stage of the competition. The new groups formed for this stage are: Group A winner, Group B runner up, Australia, Afghanistan, England, and New Zealand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa, the top two sides in each of these groups go forward to semi-finals. From there, winners of each semi progresses to final.
Group 1 is Australia, Afghanistan, England, and New Zealand. Group 2 is Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa and Group A winner is the winner of Group B.
India has not won the T20 Cricket World Cup since the inaugural competition in 2007. The latest betting odds suggest that the team has a good chance of winning the tournament.
