What we learned from Ohio heading into the 2022 conference schedule

Kurtis Rourke is a good player for Ohio. He has set school records for most passing yards in a game and for key statistical categories. His overall command of the offense is impressive. Ohio plays Fordham in the conference play.   in 2022. The Bobcats are expected to play well against Fordram.

The Bobcats have a good receiving corps in the MAC. They have nine players with at least nine or more catches so far in this season. James Bostic's 21.4 yards per catch is tops in MAC, Sam Wiglusz has 22 catches, Tyler Foster is tied for third with three TD catches and Jacoby Jones had his coming out party last week with six catches for 104 yards and two scores.

The offensive line is set to be a factor in the ground game. LG Kurt Danneker returned last week for the first time since week one of the season. Danner and Hagen Meservy are in contention to become the best guard combo in college football by season's end. The running back room is still injury-prone, but Sieh Bangura and Nolan McCormack should be back this week.

Special teams played a key role in the 59-52 win over Iowa State. The team has some good players on the field goal and punt teams. They are both getting better. They have experienced punters. Ohio is going to play in conference play from 2022. It is a good start for special teams ahead of conference.

Ohio's defense is a work-in-progress. The team is surrendering 44.8 points per game. Fordham scored 52 points last week. There are some promising players in the secondary. The defense has been more effective this year in creating havoc in passing games. It has nine sacks compared with 17 last season. They need Roman Parodie to continue developing to counter deep or end zone passes. Torrie Cox Jr. could play his way into All-MAC status by the end of 2022. He switched positions in 4th quarter and played a significant role in slowing down Fotis Kokosioulis.
