A brand new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is upon us as the mini-auction for the IPL 2024 will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
For the first time in the 16-year history of the tournament, the auction will be held outside India.
All 10 teams have already disclosed their list of released and retained players and now based on that they will analyse their existing squads and then decide on the players they would opt to buy in the auction.
IPL 2023 runners-up Gujarat Titans have the highest remaining purse heading into the IPL 2024 mini-auction. The Ahmedabad-based outfit have a total of INR 38.5 Crores left in their budget.
When is IPL 2024 starting?
According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, the IPL 2024 is likely to start on March 22 and will go on until the end of May.
The schedule for the new season will be officially disclosed once the Election Commission of India reveals the dates for India's general elections.
