USC'S 2024 SEASON OUTLOOK

The Trojans have one of the toughest schedules nationally next season playing only one Group of Five team in Utah State. In 247Sports.com's early look at the hardest college football schedules for 2024, USC came in at No. 9

The Trojans will have a new quarterback with Caleb Williams entering the NFL Draft. Lincoln Riley said earlier this month Miller Moss, last year's backup, and UNLV transfer Jayden Maiavawill compete for the starting quarterback job

USC's two leading rushers and two leading receivers have all departed for the NFL too. On the offensive line, the Trojans will return three starters from last season in Jonah Monheim, Emmanuel Pregnon and Mason Murphy.

Defensively, Riley elected to hire four new assistant coaches in an effort to revamp a unit that struggled mightily a year ago. The Trojans have a number of impact players coming back led by defensive lineman Bear Alexander, linebackers Mason Cobb and Eric Gentry and safety Jaylin Smith.

USC added seven defensive players in the most recent transfer portal window as well. Defensive linemen Isaiah Raikes (Texas A&M) and Nate Clifton (Vanderbilt) should provide a boost up front along with Oregon State linebacker transfer Easton Mascarensas-Arnold. In the secondary, UCLA  safety transfer Kamari Ramsey and UCLA cornerback transfer John Humphrey have joined the Trojans along with Mississippi State cornerback transfer DeCarlos Nicholson and Oregon State safety transfer Akili Arnold

The Trojans' most impactful offensive transfer will likely be former Mississippi State running back Jo'Quavious Marks.

USC kicks off the 2024 season, the school's first in the Big Ten, with a neutral site matchup against LSU in Las Vegas on Sept. 1.
