Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino (901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, 954-454-7000, GulfstreamPark.com) is boasting that it has “Florida’s largest derby party.”

In addition to its own 11 horseraces, which include two stakes, Gulfstream will hold a Derby Divas and Darlings hat contest. The Silks Simulcast Center, which opens at 9 a.m., will offer “Spin & Win” drawings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

IN DEEP AT THE ISLE

The prize pool more than doubled the guarantee of $100,000 in an April 27-30 poker tournament at Isle Casino Racing. It reached $226,310 for the $360 No Limit Hold ‘Em Deep Stack event, which was won by Dmitry Agrachov of Delray Beach. He pocketed $20,363.

Second went to Boca Raton’s David Gelley ($15,418), and third was Boynton Beach’s Justin Levin ($15,360). There were 742 entries.

May is packed with poker tournaments at Isle. The first, scheduled for May 4-7, is a no-limit hold ’em with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 and a buy-in of $150. Smaller pools, and buy-ins, are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the month.
