Chelsea will aim to kickstart their Premier League season when they make the short trip to face west London neighbours Fulham.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have yielded a paltry return of five points from their opening six top-flight matches in 2023/24, with the solitary win coming at home to Luton Town.

Nicolas Jackson scored the only goal last midweek as the Blues beat Brighton in the Carabao Cup and Pochettino badly needs his youthful and expensively assembled squad to take that positivity into the game against Marco Silva's men.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of the game, including how to watch it across the world, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

What time does Fulham vs Chelsea kick off?

Fulham vs Chelsea lineups, team news

Fulham were victorious in the Carabao Cup last time out but a 2-1 win against Norwich City came at a price as Calvin Bassey suffered a recurrence of a back injury to join fellow defender Tosin Adarabioyo (groin) on the sidelines.

Harry Wilson replaces Bobby De Cordova-Reid in the only change to the XI that drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace.

Fulham lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Leno (GK) — Castagne, Diop, Ream, Robinson — Palhinha, Reed — Wilson, Pereira, Willian — Jimenez

England left-back Ben Chilwell (hamstring) suffered his latest injury setback in the win over Brighton, meaning Chelsea's defence is set to have an even more makeshift look. Marc Cucurella starts at right-back, with central defender Levi Colwill deputising for Chilwell.

Nicolas Jackson is also suspended due to accumulating five yellow cards in quick time, meaning a surprise start for Armando Broja at centre-forward. Raheem Sterling is on the bench after suffering with a virus ove recent days.

Chelsea lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Sanchez (GK) — Cucurella, Disasi, Silva, Colwill — Caicedo, Fernandez, Gallagher — Palmer, Broja, Mudryk

Fulham vs Chelsea prediction, odds

It would be bold to predict a goal-laden affair between two sides who've only scored five times apiece in their six Premier League games so far. As in many of the previous defeats, there were positive signs in Chelsea's Carabao Cup win but Jackson's absence means their attack feels even more lacking in cutting edge.

Expect the Blues to once again control most of the 90 minutes but it's hard to be convinced that patched-up defence will manage to keep the back door shut.
