The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for their next general manager and we have odds! Read on as we explore who will be the Maple Leafs' next GM.

The Toronto Maple Leafs dismissed general manager Kyle Dubas on Friday, roughly a week after the team's loss in five games to the Florida Panthers during the second round of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan has begun his search for Dubas' replacement, and the executive who will be charged with trying to end the franchises' now-56-year Stanley Cup drought. Bettors can already wager on who will be the Maple Leafs' next GM via the odds from Sports Interaction.

Odds for Maple Leafs' next GM

Who'll be Maple Leafs' next GM?

The favorite: Brandon Pridham

Pridham, formerly Toronto's assistant to the general manager, was promoted to assistant general manager in May 2018. Serving under Dubas since that time, the logical expectation would be for Pridham to also be leaving the organization unless promoted again to the GM role.

He worked for the NHL after previously being in scouting before joining the Maple Leafs. The 44-year-old could make the most sense if Shanahan and the rest of the Leafs' brass feel the best move this offseason is to completely rebuild the on-ice roster and begin a longer reconstruction process through the draft.

Who the fans want: Doug Gilmour

Sports Interaction isn't alone in offering the occasional betting option that baits die-hard fans in these sorts of markets. Gilmour, who played 393 games with the Maple Leafs over his Hall of Fame career, would be the preferred choice of many who bleed blue and white.

Though he's being given extremely long odds at +4000, Gilmour isn't entirely fool's gold. Since his playing career ended, the Kingston, Ontario native has served as the Leafs' player development advisor, assistant coach of the AHL's Toronto Marlies, head coach of the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs, general manager and president of the Fronts, and he's currently a community representative for the Leafs.

Wide Variety of Betting Options

Best pick: Jason Botterill

Botterill is the assistant general manager for the Seattle Kraken, a team that made it to the Western Conference semifinal in just its second season of existence. That's as far as the Maple Leafs' star-studded and highly expensive roster made it during Dubas' five seasons at the helm.

The former Buffalo Sabres winger will get plenty of credit for what the Kraken have accomplished since their expansion. Giving him an upgraded star core - including all or some combination of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and John Tavares - could certainly ease his transition to a full-time role if the Leafs choose to retool and look to add cost-efficient pieces.
