Report by sports finance outlet Calcio e Finanza reveals the top-20 pro cycling salaries for male cyclists in 2022. Tadej Pogačar is estimated to earn $6.6 million a year.

Ineos Grenadiers has a good team with a lot of talent. Geraint Thomas, Egan Bernal, Michał Kwiatkowski, and Richard Carapaz are among the top earners in 2022. The team has been sponsored by Ineos since 2009. Inez is the fourth largest company of its kind with $61 billion turnover.

UAE Emirates is paying Tadej Pogačar €6 million per season to keep him on the books. Pogasar's contract is worth €36 million. He has won two Tours de France titles and two monument victories.

Chris Froome, Peter Sagan and Geraint Thomas are the top-paid riders in the world. They are not sure-fire future success, but they bring prestige, expertise and future funding. They have not been successful recently, although they have won the Tour de France in 2018.

Peter Sagan earns the highest salary at the second-division TotalEnergies. Alpecin-Fenix and Arkéa-Samsic have the most expensive riders in the world. Mathieu van der Poel and Nairo Quintana earn the least.

Calcio e Finanza's list is based on salaries, but it's not clear if personal sponsors are included. Mark Cavendish's sprint successes at Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl are funded by his own personal backers. Cavindy has a host of past and future partners, ranging from luxury watch brand Richard Mille to Nike shoes, Specialized bikes and more. Sagan has 10-year tie-in with Sportful and Froome has his fingers in a range of blossoming tech brands.
