Wilfried Zaha reveals Premier League legend told him to 'go to Galatasaray' after shock free transfer move to Turkey

GALATASARAY confirmed the signing of Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer from Crystal Palace.

Ivory Coast star Zaha agreed a three-year deal with the Turkish champions and will earn £72,000 a week in Istanbul, with a £2million signing-on fee.

The 30-year-old winger said: "I saw how big a club they are.

"I spoke to friends before I came and Didier Drogba told me, ‘Go to Gala’."

On his move, Zaha added: "It was a wonderful welcome. Many of our fans were there.

"I will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time.

"We will give my contribution when I can and make an effort to move forward.

"To be honest, I talked to many of my friends before I came, like Drogba, [Patrick] van Aanholt.

"I've stepped in here too. When I wear the jersey, I will give my 100 per cent.

"We want to win the championship for our fans this season."

Zaha's first taste of senior football came with Palace back in 2010, before he sealed a move to Man Utd in 2013.

However, two years later Zaha was back at Palace permanently.

And since returning in 2013 he has scored 72 goals across 315 appearances to take his overall Eagles tally to 90 goals in 458 games.
