Williams leads the praise as Potters Corner retires

Potsters Corner has been retired after winning the Welsh National. Christian Williams praised the horse. Potters corner won seven of his 35 starts. He won the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter in March 2019. He finished sixth in a veterans' handicap chase at Warwick on Wednesday. It was his final appearance. The horse was owned by good people.

Declarations deadline in jump racing has been made permanent. The deadline was introduced as a temporary measure when the sport resumed in Britain after the pandemic shutdown in 2020. It was previously restricted to Sundays and selected major events, including the Cheltenham Festival. BHA felt that 48-hour declarations have a positive impact in supporting more effective forward-planning.
