He had a few spells as an amateur and was a conditional rider. He struggled with weight and eating habits. His trainer Nicky Martin didn't enter Trucker Lodge last year. Kim Gingell's brother Joe Tizzard saddled The big breakaway. Her son Freddie rode Truckier Lodge. Irish raider TheBigDog finished third. Pricard was riding Darren Mcalinden's horse. It was his first win in the race.

Paul Kealy tipped up The Two Amigos at 50-1 each-way for the Welsh National and The Big Breakaway at 16s.
