Wisconsin vs. Iowa: Big Ten football betting odds for Week 7

The University of Wisconsin football team will be sitting atop the Big Ten West Division standings when it kicks off against Iowa, and oddsmakers are expecting the Badgers to hold on to that top spot after hosting the second-place Hawkeyes on Saturday.

Wisconsin (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten) will spend another week on the outside looking in at the Associated Press Top 25, receiving 41 votes in Sunday's poll after defeating Rutgers 24-13 in its Big Ten home opener a day earlier, but most Vegas sportsbooks expect the Badgers to defeat Iowa (5-1, 2-1) by at least a touchdown when they battle for the Heartland Trophy on Saturday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium.

According to Action Network, the Badgers opened as 4.5-point favorites, before the consensus increased to 9.5 points in favor of Wisconsin at most major sportsbooks as of Sunday afternoon.

The over/under for total points in the game, which will air at 3 p.m. Saturday on FOX, opened at 40.5 before dipping to 37.5 total points at most of the major Vegas sportsbooks taking action early Sunday afternoon.

While gambling on sports is legal in-person at six tribal casinos in Wisconsin, the tribes currently operating sportsbooks do not allow wagers on Wisconsin collegiate events.

The Badgers went into their homecoming game against the Scarlet Knights as strong favorites, with early lines favoring Wisconsin by more than two touchdowns before most of the Vegas sportsbooks eased back a little to 13 points in favor of the Badgers with an over/under set at 44 total points the night before kickoff. Wisconsin posted an 11-point margin of victory, which failed to cover the spread, while the total score of 37 failed to clear the over/under in Vegas.
