With Breeders' Cup two weeks away, 2-year-olds in France, England look to 2022

Two-year-olds are racing this weekend in Europe and on the United States. Breeders' Cup is in two weeks at Del Mar. The final Group 1 event of the British turf flat racing season goes off on Saturday. 2021-22 All-Weather Championships are already underway.

Two Emmys and Glynn County are the favorites for Friday's $150,000 Grade III Sycamore at Keeneland. Public Sector is the morning-line favorite for Saturday's Grade II Hill Prince at Belmont Park. Soldier Rising is a Frankel colt trained by Christophe Clement. Breeders' Cup is in two weeks.

Ten plus a "main track only" also-eligible are in for Saturday's $200,000 Grade III Noble Damsel at Belmont Park. Tamahere is the morning-line favorite. High Opinion finished second in the Grade II Ballston Spa at Saratoga for trainer Anthony Dutrow. La Lune finished 2nd in her U.S. debut in Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon. Viburnum finished2nd at Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky downs.

There are 13 entries in Saturday's $250,000 Grade II Lexus Raven Run for 3-year-old fillies at Keeneland. Obligatory is the nominal favorite at 3/1 on the morning line. Amalfi Coast and Our Secret Agent are in a field of six for Saturday’s $150,00 (Canadian) Grade III Hendrie on Woodbine all-weather track.

Bob Baffert has two of the six horses entered for Sunday's Anoakia Stakes at Santa Anita. Eda finished second in the Grade II Sorrento at Del Mar and fifth in Grade I Debutante.

The winners of the first two legs of Japanese Triple Crown are taking a pass on Sunday's Grade 1 Kikuka Sho or Japanese St. Leger. Efforia, the winner of Grade. 1 Satsuki Sho, is being prepped for the Grade1 Tenno Sho (Autumn) and Shahryar, victorious in the. Grade one Tokyo Yushun or the Japanese Derby, will be the only 3-year-old trying 3,000 meters for first time in their careers.

Zaaki and Probabeel will meet in Saturday's Group 1 Cox Plate at Mooney Valley. Godolphin's Anamoe is the favorite to win the race. Breeders' Cup is in two weeks. Australia has 13 runners to tackle 1200 meters on Friday.

Juvenile colts and fillies have one last chance to stretch their legs in France on Saturday. Angel Bleu headlines the shorter heat off a 3/4-length win over Noble Truth in the Group 1 Qatar Jean-Luc Lagardere on Oct. 3. Aikhal, Glounthaune, A.O. Brien imports and Aidan O'Brien imports Stone Age are also in this race. The longer race features a rematch between the Charlie Appleby-trained Dubawi colt Goldspur and the Donacha O’Brien- trained Churchill colter Unconquerable. Frankie Dettori returns on UnConquerables, while William Buick takes over from James Doyle on GoldSpur. Sunday's Prix Royal-Oak at Longchamp is 3,100 meters or 1/2 furlong short of 2 miles.

Luxembourg is a favorite in Saturday's Group 1 Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster. Space Cowboy earned the first Fast-Track Qualifier spot in the All-Weather Championship finals with a front-running win Tuesday at Newcastle. Kodi Bear is guaranteed a slot in Coral All Weather Three-year-old Championships on Finals Day, Good Friday 2022. Finals day is moving to the Tapeta surface at Newcastle. Golden Sixty won his 14th straight race Tuesday. He is three wins short of the record held by Silent Witness. Golden S sixty will get a chance to cut that to two in the Group 2 Jockey Cub Mile on Nov. 21.

Niarchos family will receive the 2021 Longines and International Federation of Horseracing Authorities' International Award of Merit. The family has bred and campaigned more than 125 Group 1 or Grade I winners during decades of involvement. Stavros Niarcho made his fortune in the shipping business. His first major winner was Pipe of Peace, who won the 1956 Middle Park Stakes. Maria Niarchy will accept the award.
