The Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers continued their exciting postseason runs with upset wins over the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros, respectively, in the just-completed NLCS and ALCS.

The two squads now meet in a World Series that has an air of unpredictability attached, given what these teams have already accomplished.

Here are our best World Series picks, props and promos for the Fall Classic.

Diamondbacks vs. Rangers best bets: World Series odds, picks and predictions

Oddsmakers are making the Rangers a clear favorite to win the series, but the Diamondbacks have already knocked off two high-powered NL lineups.

Texas has done the same throughout its AL playoff run.

Both teams have a solid mix of ascending stars and established veterans, setting up what should be an intriguing championship clash.

World Series pick: Rangers World Series winner (-170 or better)

The Diamondbacks aren’t just happy to have gotten to the Fall Classic. After taking down the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers, and then ousting a heavily favored Phillies team, the D-Backs will be looking to finish what they started.

However, talent and depth advantages naturally play a factor, and that’s where we lean firmly towards a Rangers team that mowed through impressive Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles squads in the minimum number of games before also taking the last two games of their LCS on the road against the defending champion Astros.

We give the Rangers’ Scherzer-Eovaldi-Montgomery-Gray starting quartet the depth and experience edge and feel even stronger about the Rangers’ advantage when it comes to sheer number of hitters.

There’s no question Texas will have to earn the championship against a D-Backs group that clearly fears no team or setting, and the geographical proximity of the two home cities should make each road game less daunting by featuring plenty of visiting fans.

Nevertheless, we’re banking on the Rangers’ superior collection of bats to ultimately carry the day.

World Series props: Over 6.5 total games (+195 or better)

As already alluded to, this is a series that could well come down to the wire.

The Rangers’ starting pitcher edge is partly offset by what is likely a bullpen advantage for Arizona. Additionally, Scherzer has proven hittable at times and may not have a fully healthy shoulder until this offseason.

On the D-Backs side, young Brandon Pfaadt, who’s blessed with excellent swing-and-miss stuff, has pitched 14 innings of two-run ball with an 18:2 K:BB over his last three playoff appearances.

Texas outclasses Arizona when it comes to pure hitting, but the D-Backs are certainly not without some potent bats.

Consequently, banking on this series to go full length seems prudent.

World Series props: Over 50.5 total series runs (-110 or better)

Both these teams can do plenty of damage offensively when the likes of Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, Christian Walker, Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Adolis Garcia are running hot.

The pitching staffs are solid but not elite, and there’s plenty of good fastball hitters set to face power pitchers. Temperatures should also be fairly conducive for offense in either home park.

When also factoring in potential bullpen vulnerabilities, and that these two teams combined for 60 runs in their just-completed seven-game LCS clashes, we’re in the camp of this bet.
