XFL Championship Odds 2023: Third Time’s a Charm

The XFL is back with its third attempt at spring football. Let’s get you prepped with our best XFL futures for the 2023 season based on the odds from our best sportsbooks.

Three years ago, spring football fans were excited to welcome the XFL back after almost 20 years on the shelf. After five weeks, that excitement was cut short when COVID-19 shut the world down. Shortly afterwards, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia announced another relaunch to happen in 2023. This weekend, we will once again get the chance to get excited about an XFL season.

There are several differences this time around. The Guardians franchise is now in Orlando. The Renegades have stayed in Texas, but have moved from Dallas to Arlington. Las Vegas inherits the once Tampa Bay Vipers. Lastly, Seattle adopted the Sea Dragons as their mascot adding the aquatic flare to their previous logo.

Here is our look at the best odds for the 2023 XFL futures odds, along with a look at some potential picks (odds via our best sportsbooks).

XFL Championship odds 2023: Favorites

Arlington Renegades (+500 via Caesars)

Head coach Bob Stoops returns for his second stint at the helm of the Renegades as they make the move from Dallas to Arlington. His roster is loaded with spring football favorites, including quarterback Kyle Sloter who last played for the New Orleans Breakers in the USFL. Veteran defensive backs De'Vante Bausby and Will Hill anchor a unit built to dominate the less experienced receivers in this league. Arlington is rightfully the favorites to win the league and the small price deviation in the books confirms this.

Seattle Sea Dragons (+550 via PointsBet)

It is a surprise to see the Seattle Sea Dragons priced among the favorites to claim the XFL title this season. On paper, they are weaker than almost every team at several key positions including at quarterback. Former Dallas Cowboys signal caller Ben DiNucci will lead the team with one NFL start on his resume. The books could very well be looking at wide receiver Josh Gordon as a selling point for his new team. The embattled NFL star will try to keep his career alive in the XFL this season.

XFL Championship odds 2023: Contenders

D.C. Defenders (+750 via DraftKings)

This young roster holds potential and it’s up to head coach Reggie Barlow to find it this season. He will start the season with XFL veteran quarterback Jordan Ta’amu under center. Ta’amu was a fan favorite in 2020 as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He also led the USFL in passing touchdowns last season with the Tampa Bay Bandits. The Defenders have a solid shot at winning the North division. This is a team worth some speculation and are at more than favorable odds to do so.

San Antonio Brahmas (+650 via FanDuel)

Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward will lead the Brahmas in his first stint as a head coach. Luckily, he has two XFL veterans on offense that can help him adjust to his new role. Both running back Jacques Patrick and wide receiver Jalen Tolliver suited up for the Tampa Bay Vipers in the 2020 season. They will be called upon to help three quarterbacks who haven't taken a snap in a professional football game.

XFL championship odds 2023: Long shots

Houston Roughnecks (+800 via Caesars)

When the XFL was forced to shut down in 2020, the Roughnecks were the only team without a loss. In 2023, new head coach Wade Phillips will look to keep Houston’s winning streak alive. He’ll do so with two savvy quarterbacks in Brandon Silvers and Cole McDonald. Silvers was a starter with the Seattle Dragons in the previous version of the XFL. McDonald was a star signal caller in Hawaii. Defensive back Will Likely will make his second appearance in a Houston secondary after having earned All-USFL honors with the Gamblers last season.

Orlando Guardians (+900 via DraftKings)

Despite having several recognizable names from various football leagues both spring and fall, the Guardians find themselves with the longest odds to win this league. They are led on offense by former 2016 Denver Broncos first-round quarterback selection Paxton Lynch. He is joined by former teammate Cody Latimer who was a receiver in Denver from 2014-2017. Orlando’s young defense could be what is driving their odds.
