Capodanno comes of age in Champion Novice Chase as Bob Olinger fails to fire

Bob Olinger failed to fire in the Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase. Capodanno dominated the race. Henry de Bromhead was content that Bob Olinger had overcome his muscle tear picked up when running out a fortuitous winner of the Turners Novices' Chase at Cheltenham.

Bob Olinger was pulled up in the Champion Novice Chase at Punchestown. Capodanno won the race. Willie Mullins and Mark Walsh are optimistic about their horse's chances for next year's Cheltenham Gold Cup. The trainer said they didn't do the right thing at the previous Cheltonham. They didn’t want to be bold enough in bigger races before. Lifetime Ambition won, with Mildmay Novices' Chase runner-up Fury Road a further nine lengths back in third. It was the same result as last year. Envoi Allen was also pulled out.
