Cheltenham Festival: Altior wins thrilling Queen Mother Champion Chase

Altior wins the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham Festival. Trainer Nicky Henderson won the Champion Hurdle with Buveur D'Air 24 hours earlier. Ruby Walsh was stood down from racing after a fall. Gordon Elliott won a 469-1 treble with Samcro, Tiger Roll and Veneer Of Charm. Presenting Percy won in the RSA Chase.

Altior won the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham Festival. Altior had been lame on Monday but was passed fit to race. It was the 60th Festival win for the meeting's all-time leading trainer Henderson. He also has the favourite for Friday's Gold Cup in Might Bite. No trainer has ever won Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold cup in the same year.

Alior won the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham. Douvan fell.  Altier won his third Festival. He was in a bad position at the second-last fence but recovered to grab the initiative.

Elliott won three races at Cheltenham Festival. Samcro won the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle for Jack Kennedy. Tiger Roll won Cross Country Chase. Veneer Of Charm won Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hundle. The horse is now a 14-1 long shot for the Grand National at Aintree in April.

Presenting Percy won the RSA Chase. Bryony Frost finished out of the places. Mark Walsh won Coral Cup on Bleu Berry. Relegate won Champion Bumper.  Ruby's sister Katie is talking to him. She is happy with his recovery. It was Willie Mullins' fourth winner of 2018.
