DraftKings Sportsbook Super Bowl 58 Futures Odds

The aforementioned Jets sit in the ninth spot at +2500. Predictably, the defending Super Bowl 57 Kansas City Chiefs lead the pack at +600.

The Buffalo Bills (+700), San Francisco 49ers (+800), and Philadelphia Eagles (+900) round out the top three at DraftKings Sportsbook.

3 Reasons to Bet the NY Jets to Win Super Bowl 58

The New York Jets started the 2022 season with a record of 7-4 and looked primed for their first postseason appearance in over a decade. Fast forward to the end of the season, New York lost six straight and was outside looking in on the NFL playoff picture.

Surprisingly, the Jets have strong odds to win the Super Bowl after coming off a 7-10 disappointing season. At DraftKings Sportsbook, the Jets are currently +2500 which is good for the ninth-best odds.

Before betting anything, just know that it is a risk to bet in this market so far out from the regular season. We do not know if someone will get injured in their offseason programs or training camp, but you can get some added value at this point in the year.

At +2500, listed below are three reasons why I think it would be wise to take a shot on the Jets now, instead of closer to the regular season.

New Quarterback

It’s no surprise that the biggest storyline involving the Jets this offseason is at the quarterback position. At this point in the offseason, we do not have an answer just yet but we are certainly getting closer.

The Jets have connections on their coaching staff with nearly every veteran quarterback that is seemingly available. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who served as Green Bay’s offensive coordinator from 2019-2021, has a great relationship with Aaron Rodgers. Derek Carr worked with passing game coordinator Todd Downing in Las Vegas when he was his quarterback coach.

Robert Saleh spent time with Jimmy Garappolo when he was the defensive coordinator in San Francisco. Run game coordinator Keith Carter worked with Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee.

As we saw in 2022, this roster is ready to win now. With mediocre quarterback play, the 2022 Jets would have made the playoffs comfortably and could have maybe even won a playoff round.

It is safe to say in 2023, New York will have a new starting QB which should help tremendously to push this team forward.

Joe Douglas’ Desperation

It is not a secret that Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh’s seats could start to get warm in 2023. In my eyes, if the Jets miss the playoffs for a 13th consecutive season, both should be let go of their respective positions.

This leads to them being aggressive in free agency, the trade market, and even the NFL draft. The Jets need to create some cap space but when they do, I expect them to be aggressive this offseason to make improvements.

New York has so many key contributors on rookie contracts for the next few years. This could create a window before it is time to extend guys like Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner, and Alijah Vera-Tucker.

Young Player Development

Now it is time to talk about guys already on the roster. With so many younger players playing meaningful snaps in games, they are only going to get better as time goes on.

Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall all had terrific rookie seasons. In their second season, we could see Wilson and Hall take that next step to All-Pro and Pro Bowl level of play.

Alijah Vera-Tucker and Quinnen Williams have made massive impacts and will only continue to get better.

These young players for the Jets will be huge if they want to make a deep run in the playoffs. Their health and development could take the Jets to be true contenders to win Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas.
