🔮 Predictions For The Gane Vs Spivac Main Event

With just two losses to his credit, Cyril Gane looks to rev his engine back toward a title fight. First up, since his loss to Jon Jons, he is another top-10 heavyweight in Sergey Spivac (the spelling is different in multiple locations). Spivac has won three fights in a row, most recently against Derrick Lewis in February 2023, submitting him in the first round. This earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Besides the Jones loss, Gane has just one other loss to Francis Ngannou on January 22, getting knocked out in the third round.

As you can see, Gane doesn’t lose unless it’s the cream of the crop.

Spivac is 16-3 in his MMC career and first came to the UFC in 2019, losing to Walt Harris. His three professional losses have all come in the UFC. Two of his losses were to KO/TKO, and the other was a unanimous decision.

This is set up to be a great fight as Spivac tends to lean more toward wrestling and get fighters to the mat, which Gane is not as skilled at.

Gane isn’t exactly someone to track down his opponent and knock them out, which could lead to this fight going a bit longer than expected, as he avoids takedowns.

Look for Gane to fend off Spivac and end this one, knocking him out.

Ciryl Gane’s form and last fights

Gane has been excellent throughout his MMA career. The 33-year-old has just two losses to Ngannou and Jones, and his most recent fight was a loss to Jones. In that fight, Jones made quick work of him, submitting him within the first two minutes. It was a tough loss for a competitor that’s been wildly successful, but Jones is another animal.

A win against Spivac here helps him re-climb the ladder to hopefully get another shot.

Sergey Spivac’s form and last fights

After losing to Tom Aspinall on September 4, 2021, Spivac has appeared in three flights and has won them all. He took out Greg Hardy and Augusto Sakai and most recently submitted Lewis in the first round.

Lewis found that out the hard way that his wrestling needs to be respected.

He’s a top-10 heavyweight, but he’ll need to be wary of Gane here.

Ciryl Gane vs Serghei Spivac betting tips and odds

While we’re predicting a Gane win here, there are some exciting bets you can make on UFC fights that still hold that to be true but can add value.

Below, we have three tips for you to consider exploring here.

💫 Fight to go The Distance (Yes) +325 (BetMGM)

This isn’t something you’ll often see with heavyweight fights, but based on these two fighters' profiles and getting +325, it’s not a bad flier to take.

Spivac likes to take guys down. Gane isn’t great on the mat. He can knock guys out, but he’s not a fighter necessarily a “killer” in that regard. We could see a mix of the lack of coming out aggressively and staying hesitant of the takedowns, resulting in this one going the distance.

💫 Fight Finishes via KO/TKO/DQ -175 (BetMGM)

Yes, we recommended a “go the distance” bet above, but we’re looking for value here. Spivac is the underdog for a reason here, as Gane is a fighter who doesn’t really lose unless it’s the top dogs. Nearly half of his wins come via knockout, and if Spivac goes for a takedown, there’s a chance he’s met with a right hook from Gane, ending the fight.

💫 Fight Finishes Round 3 +500 (BetMGM)

We mentioned that Spivac is a great wrestler. That, coupled with Gane not being the most aggressive heavyweight, could result in a couple of rounds of “feeling out” each other. We think it’s more likely that Gane knocks him out here, and Round 3 is a great time for that to happen. Of Gane’s wins, he had four in Round 3, with two coming via KO/TKO.
