Grand National 2021 tips: Five key contenders for Saturday's feature race at Aintree

The Randox Grand National takes place on the third and final day of the Aintree Festival. Last year's National was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Back-to-back winner Tiger Roll has been removed from the race due of "unfair weight" allocation. Cloth Cap is the favourite to win the steeplechase.

The Grand National takes place on April 4th. Cloth Cap won the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at Newbury back in November. Any Second Now was a Cheltenham Festival winner in the Kim Muir over three miles and two furlongs. Minella Times has only started at three-mile distance twice, but he came second at Leopardstown in December. Burrows Saint gave Willie Mullins his first Irish Grand Nats win in 2019. Kimberlite Candy is a 2021 Grand Nationals prospect. He finished second in Bobbyjo Chase on February 27th at Fairyhouse.

1990 Mr Frisk (8.47) and 2015 Many Clouds ( 8.56.8) were the fastest Grand National runs.

Santini is the favourite for Saturday's Grand National at Aintree. The Storyteller is third, Chris’s Dream is fourth, Yala Enki is fifth, Ballyoptic is sixth, Definitly Red is seventh, Lake View Lad is eighth, Burrows Saint is ninth, Anibale Fly is tenth, Tout Est Permis is eleventh, Mister Malarky is 15th, Any Second Now is 19th.
