Henry Daly on Hillcrest: "He is better than anything I’ve had"

Hillcrest won the Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices' Hurdle at Haydock Park this afternoon. It was his fourth victory over hurdles. Hillcest has won on each of his completed starts over the hurdles so far. Bookmakers shorten him into 6-1 joint third favouritism for the Grade One contest over 3m on 18th March.

Hillcrest is showing his class at Haydock. Henry Daly said after Cheltenham that at this stage Hillcest is better than anything he's had. He is huge but he has a lot of talent. Richard getting off said that two and a half miles is fine but his classes got him through on New Year's Day.

Hillcrest won the Pertemps Network Walrus Open Hunters' Chase. Joe O'Shea's horse Cousin Pascal came out on top by two lengths. Dr Richard Newland's Foillan won PERTemp Network Handicap Hurdle. Grand National-winning trainer Dr Newlands was surprised to pick up a winner.   He was disappointed with Enqarde in the last race. He had a different winner 35 minutes later. It was Foilan. The winner was a 10-1 outsider. Henry Daly is happy with Hillcest. Albert Bartlett is next for Hill cestr.
