High drama in Epsom opener as William Buick struck in head by rival horse

William Buick's horse was hit in the head by Approachability. The jockey was left in a stall and the horse ran without him. He was okay and can take his remaining rides on Derby day. The horse also had an influence on the finish of the race. It interfered with runner-up Grenoble and it failed to catch the winner Swilcan Bridge. Blue Trail was declared a non-runner and withdrawn. His trainer Charlie Appleby is relieved.   The stewards interviewed the starters and accepted the evidence. They accepted that Approachable had thrown its head to the left, hitting the jockeying's head.
