The BHA has changed its mind about the use of the whip. Jockeys will be able to use the whips in the forehand position and the backhand only rule has been binned.

The majority of their members were furious and threatened to strike. Ryan Moore saved the day by intervening on their behalf. PJA has a problem with leadership and has been accused of bullying in the past. They also bungled negotiations with the BHA over the closing of racecourse saunas and the scrapping of a weight allowance for jockey.
