One of the Cheltenham Festival Races Will Be Named in Honor of Jack de Bromhead Next Year

The Cheltenham Festival is one of the most popular horse racing events in the world. Trainers, jockeys, and horses from all over the UK and the globe gather during the festival. The most famous events are the Champion Hurdle, the Queen Mother Champion Chase, Cheltonham Gold Cup and Jack de Bromhead's Run.

Jack de Bromhead, son of famous Irish horse trainer Henry de Bredhead died after a riding accident at the Glenbeigh Racing Festival in 2022. The boy fell from his horse during a race at County Kerry’s Rossbegh Beach.

The Mares’ Novices” Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival will be named in honor of Jack de Bromhead next year. The news was confirmed by his father Henry de Bredhead.

The Mares’ Novices” Hurdle takes place on the New Course during the Cheltenham Festival. It's open to fillies and mares older than four years old. Henry de Bromhead is one of Ireland's most-renowned horse trainers. He has already named Magical Zoe as a standout horse.

Cheltenham will name one of the Cheltenburg Festival races in honor of Jack de Bromhead next year.
