TOM ASPINALL VS MARCIN TYBURA LOWDOWN

Tom Aspinall (12-3) headlines his third UFC London card in a row. His last appearance was a year ago against Curtis Blaydes with likely title fight implications and it could not have gone worse. He blew his knee out in 15 seconds tearing his MCL, meniscus and damaging his ACL, so he has made a quick turnaround considering. Unfortunately, it counts as a loss on the record, but he finished all five of his UFC fights prior collecting four ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses and would love nothing more to pick that form back up.

He has been tasked with Marcin Tybura (24-7) for his return who headlines his second UFC card in his 18 appearance. He was in the form of his life after he TKO’d Walt Harris (2021) to extend an impressive five-fight win streak. Alexander Volkov (2021) snapped it with a unanimous decision, but Tybura has bounced back with two decisions of his own over the super tough Alexander Romanov (2022) and Blagoy Ivanov (2023).

TOM ASPINALL VS MARCIN TYBURA PREDICTION

The only question marks here are how well Aspinall recovered. Tybura is a very good fighter with quality grappling however, Aspinall has the jiu-jitsu to match, is a better wrestler and his striking is different class. His speed and power puts him a level above, but he blew his knee out only a year ago.

His movement and his explosiveness will not be what it was and it will be very interesting to see how confident he is pressing off that knee. If there is any hesitancy, Tybura will close the distance and test that knee in the clinch and pull him to the deck.

That said, Aspinall’s recovery looks like it has gone very well and he is beasting his training. If he is anywhere near his best, he could win this how he wants. He has the hand speed to catch Tybura clean and secure his own takedown.

Tybura has never been submitted, but if he gets rocked, Aspinall will waste little time in filling up that loss column. Considering the odds, a small bet on Tybura is tempting, but Aspinall could affirm those odds in the first round.

Prediction: Aspinall via KO/TKO

Value bet: Aspinall via Decision
